We can change the future only by changing our financial system
The Future of Consumption
Hi my name is Peter Johnson and I wrote a book called "Why are you still a Slave?" and you can buy it on amazon but on this website I want to engage with thought leaders on the development of a new Economic model. The Current system of trade (Value Exchange) has been facilitated by money and in our modern economy that money is mostly un backed Fiat currency.
Fiat Currency literally has no value other than the paper it is printed on and the faith that people put in it to exchange for some future product or service. It is created by banks (not our government) at interest and so born into a spiralling system of reduction of value or purchasing power.
Please click on the link in the header to the full explanation of my new monetary system and subscribe so that we can build a group of people who share the idea that we should demand more from value exchange than our own enslavement. Stop money from being the cause of the worlds problems and start making it our slave.
A new economic system is possible and the proposal I have is a system of "Prosperity with Negative Growth"
Consumption and Growth are baked into our current value exchange system and that is what is killing us. Unlike every other Idea I have heard to change the world I have some very selfish steps that everyone can take to effect this great change without doing a heck of a lot.
Do you want a Fridge to last 20 - 50 years or a TV that is still working and up to date in 100 years? Sounds impossible but people used to make furniture to last 100 years but for some reason we don't make anything else that way ? We can do it but every company who would want to do that will eventually go broke in this current system.
Change needs to be driven by Consumers, You need to demand better products or everything will get shorter and shorter lifecycles until we consume the planet to death. We don't need to be hermits and never buy anything, we just need to buy the best and most useful products and have a way to pay for the value they deliver in real terms over the life of the product.
Follow this link to the Products page, where I am seeking subscriptions to my group where you indicate that you would like to buy a product with our Guarantee and under our payment plan that make sure companies are paid for only the value they deliver and you get the products you actually can love !!
Our Essential product Demands
The production or consumption of these Products do no harm to people.
Any impacts these product have on animals or environment will be minimised in any way possible without economic considerations being a factor in the decision making process.
These products consume the least amount of resources for the greatest outcome and the embedded energy in the product will be printed on the product.
All products should have a Zero Waste production standard ... That is, In nature there is no such thing as waste because everything that is waste from one animal or plant is food or shelter for another and in quantities that are beneficial. Humans need to adopt the same principles and not allow our waste to be considered a except-able byproduct of production and consumption. Zero means Zero.
Components that need to be upgraded will be modular and replaceable without replacing the whole unless the whole can be returned for complete recycling.
Fashion components will be either timeless or have the ability to be upgraded without consuming more than is absolutely needed.
Any components of a product that wear out will be able to be replaced separately from any other components if possible or the whole product will be able to be recycled in full. Cradle to Cradle the way nature is.
Just imagine products that are made to consumers requirements without the corporate imperative that ignores all other aspects other than profit. When I go to a manufacturer with 10,000 customers who have pre agreed to purchase their products if they meet these suggested criteria that consumers must have. If I could show a manufacturer that I have a committed membership of people are willing to buy with our new system, then they would have to make the products or I would just take my customers to the next manufacturer who will.
I propose a bidding system on features, function and price where I can seek manufacturers who would be willing to meet the market and sell their products in a Value based pricing system where they hold obligations for the life of their product.
